Ian and the team at Berge-Pappas-Smith Chapel of The Angels in Fremont made an incredibly difficult time a little less emotionally taxing. They treated my loved one with genuine dignity and respect while also treating me with compassion, authenticity, and understanding. "During the most difficult time of our lives, the staff at Berge-Pappas-Smith Chapel of the Angels (BPS) were a comforting Godsend. The passing of my mother was devastating and planning for her funeral services could have been overwhelming, but we were met with warmth, empathy, and professionalism. From the very first phone call to the final burial, all our needs, questions, concerns, and requests were attended to. Ian Smith, the Funeral Director, patiently guided us through the process and the various options. No high-pressure sales. Ian’s support team was equally attentive and caring (thank you Damien, Michael, Michelle, and Gina) BPS took care of all the complicated paperwork, contacted the church and priests for us, and handled the logistical details— even gave us a list of Filipino caterers for the funeral reception. The evening of the viewing and the Vigil service was flawless. My mother looked beautifully peaceful (thank you Fabian Juarez) and the facility was clean, beautiful, and calming. They attended to our needs for 3 days- Wednesday evening Viewing/ Vigil Service, Thursday morning Mass, and Friday noon Final Burial. The staff made us feel like we were being cared for by family, not just treated like another client.Thank you to everyone at Berge-Pappas-Smith Chapel of the Angels for honoring my mother and giving her the respectful, loving goodbye she deserved. I highly recommend your services."
